On the last day of class, we were gently informed that the first 5 week of the new semester were going to be, well, less than fun. There's nothing like going on Christmas breaking with homework assignments. So yesterday I spent alot of the day creating drug cards for my pych patients. These cards contain information like the name of the drug, its action and class, adverse effects and any other imporatnt information you need before and after adminstering the drug. The medical field has 6 "rights" to follow when giving meds. Right dose, Right route, Right time, Right patient, Right medication, and Right documentation. I know them like the back of my hand. I hope to always carry a little fear of messing up my meds. Then I will never become over-confident, thats where mistakes happen.
I finally have a babysitter lined up for the semester too. I have to be at the hospital at 6:30am tues. and wens. I usually leave around 5:30. Megan called today and is willing to come over on those days to get the kids up and on the bus. What a blessing. My mind will be at ease with her here and the kids love her. So things are lining up well...I hope it continues
